cruising up the Danube during the back half of November :

beginning at Budapest with stops at Bratislava, Vienna, Duernstein & Krems and the Wachau Valley - ending at Melk Abby

scroll down

Budapest / somewhat repetitive scenes not necessarily in order

on to Bratislava

leaving Bratislava...

fare-thee-well Bratislava...

Vienna / Wien

Auf Wiedersehen zu Wien...

repetitive November scenes / some redundancy shots -eg: picturesque blue baroque village church tower

and a view of the nearby town of Krems:

back to Durnstein on the ship/ headed onward, up the river through the Wachou Valley

leaving Durnstein & the charming blue baroque tower behind and into repetitive river scenery

note: The interior of Melk Abby is among the most spectacularly hideous gagamaggot Baroque of any edifice in existence. In fact, we are asked to put our cameras away at the foyer -- so there are no pictures here other than at the entrance.  After that it gets much worse where no cameras are allowed and must be seen in person to be believed. Altogether it constitutes a compelling case for Minimalism. However, it can be viewed as historically 'interesting' and appreciated for overall exquisite rendering and masterful craftsmanship.
